A Great Day at General Patton’s Homestead!
Dedicated to The Memory of Joanne Holbrook Patton.
MISSION: To share military histories as a positive community engagement to benefit education and awareness of American service of all kinds.
The event is a day-long exhibition of vintage military vehicles, equipment, military reenactors, speakers – both veterans and academics – and other veteran-related attractions, held on the grounds of the home of one of America’s most famous and celebrated military families. Admission is FREE to the public, rain or shine.
In addition, Military Service Day hopes to bring public awareness to the Town of Hamilton Patton Homestead’s future sustainability of this historic place, which was gifted to Hamilton from Joanne Holbrook Patton in 2012.
Join us at the Patton Homestead in Hamilton MA, the past family home for over 90 years of General George S. Patton, WWII, his son General George Smith Patton IV, Korea, Vietnam, Black Horse Air Cavalry, and his wife Joanne Holbrook Patton, a pioneer Army Social Services innovator during the Vietnam War. She encouraged communities everywhere for decades to embrace military families.
Military Service Day is dedicated to the memory of Joanne Holbrook Patton who passed on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the age of 92. Ms. Patton is additionally remembered for her advocacy for causes including cognitive and intellectual disabilities advancement for adults (CAST program), the arts, and theater, and environmental education across America. Her life epitomizes a life of patriotism and philanthropy.

- Military and State Police Helicopter landing/displays. Time and specific rotor aircraft to be announced 36-24 hrs before the event, see Facebook as American Legion: Post 194 (Hamilton).
- Massachusetts National Guard History Museum Displays, Patton Veterans Project Films
- State, Federal and nonprofit veteran services organizations
- Massachusetts National Guard equipment, Massachusetts State Police K9, Bomb, Water Recovery Units
- Operating WWII tank demonstrations, USCG and Massachusetts State Police flyovers!
- Military re-enactors, equipment displays, demonstrations
- National Lancers riders and horses
- Military vehicles, heavy trucks, artillery & support equipment, memorabilia
- The Boston Park Rangers Mounted Horse Patrol Unit
